remember when you doubted me?

Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve been a fan of the New England Patriots since I was a little kid. And if you don’t live in a hole then you know that they won Super Bowl LI last night. But how in the hell did they win that game? I’ve been really big in saying that you should never lose hope. I say in almost every blog I post that you can do anything you put your mind and energy towards. Last night Tom Brady, specifically, proved that to be true.

I’m not going to get political about it, or defend anyone. I’ll just say that he had the odds stacked against him from the beginning and he still found a way to come out on top. He let his skill do the talking for him. Last night you could see the drive and motivation in his eyes every time they zoomed in on him. He was not going to back down no matter how far his team fell. Last night was so sweet for every Patriots fan. It was a rollercoaster. And me being the person I am, means I don’t just see it as an incredible football game. I look way deeper and see it as a salute to anyone who has the odds stacked way against them—a message that tells them to keep fighting.

Let me leave you with this for today: whether or not you are a Patriots fan, you can’t deny incredible talent and mental toughness when it’s right in front of you. Everyone thought the game was over at halftime. No one saw the second half turning in the Patriots favor the way it did. Everyone thought that it’d be almost impossible for them to come back and win. Except they did win. They climbed out of a huge hole and became the last ones standing. So no matter how low you are right now, or how impossible it may seem for you to succeed—don’t fall for it. Let your work speak for you. When no one is watching, continue to move towards your ultimate goal. You are in control of your life and you have the ability to defy all odds. If you need any extra convincing, just go watch the highlights from the Super Bowl last night. I think you’ll realize you may actually have a chance at this thing.
